Our Vision
As Columbia’s most unique — and uniquely family-friendly — festival, Hip-Hop Family Day reaches far beyond a typical music festival, providing enjoyment and inspiration to families, individuals, the young, the old, and everyone in between.
Meet the Founder
Founded in 2013 by Darius "Czar" Johnson on the principles of love, peace, unity, and having fun, Hip-Hop Family Day has never wavered from its mission to offer a free, family-friendly hip-hop music festival, without alcohol or cursing, on Columbia’s Main Street. With festival attendance growing steadily from 3,900 in 2013 to 18,000+, Hip Hop Family Day has not only grown exponentially, but has also made a lasting impact on families of all demographics who return year after year for an unforgettable celebration of music, art, and dance.​
